Propagation

Closely related to the Invasive Fertility series, the female pelvis bones in these mixed media textile works are vessels through which life passes. The pelvises hold objects from every stage of life – seeds, blooms, burying beetles, and more nefarious “contaminants” that end up in our bodies.

These pieces represent the connections between female fertility and abundance in nature. Informed by years of naturalist study, they are reflections on how care for our environment and support of women are forms of stewardship that go hand-in-hand.
